KENTUCKY
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

To become a real estate agent in Kentucky, you must meet the
following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Have a high school diploma or GED

  • Complete 96 hours of pre-licensing education from a Kentucky Real                                 Estate Commission (KREC)-approved provider

  • Pass the Kentucky Real Estate Salesperson Exam

  • Complete a national criminal background check

  • Apply for a license within 60 days of passing the exam

INDIANA
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

To become a real estate agent in Indiana, you must meet the
following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Have a high school diploma or GED

  • Complete 90 hours of pre-licensing education from an Indiana Real Estate Commission (IREC)-approved provider

  • Pass the Indiana Real Estate Exam

  • No felony convictions at any time​

  • Apply for a license within one year of passing the exam

Here are some additional tips for becoming a real estate agent:

  • Find a reputable pre-licensing education provider.  There are many different providers to choose from, so it's important to do your research and find one that is accredited and has a good track record.

  • Study hard for the real estate exams.  The exams can be challenging, so it's important to give yourself plenty of time to study and prepare.

  • Save for Financial Stability:  Real estate agents often have variable income. Be prepared for fluctuating earnings by saving and managing your finances wisely.
